Science and Negative Ions
The most frequent cause of the clinical
entity known as Serotonin Irritation Syndrome (SIS) was
recently discovered to be poor air quality. Although this
relationship has been intuitively recognized by many air-sensitive
individuals, it is only within the past few years that medical
and scientific evidence has solidly established the rationale
of cause and effect, and air physicists have developed appropriate
technologies for eliminating localized indoor pollution
problems and restoring a healthful electrical balance to
the atmosphere of confined living and work places.¹
1. Accelerated growth in the presence
of negative ions: Plants and animals have found to
show accelerated growth while kept in negative ions rich
atmosphere.
2. Negative ions free atmosphere can
be catastrophic: Small animals kept in negative ions
free atmosphere died.
3. Negative ions creates increased
alertness and relaxation: Positive ions make humans
irritable and fatigued. Whereas negative ions create increased
alertness and relaxation.
4. High positive ions can increase
serotonin production which can poison you! Lower levels
of negative ions and higher concentration of positive ions
increase the production of serotonin - a hormone associated
with stress. This in turn causes migraines, pain around
the heart, difficulty in breathing, worsening of bronchial
complaints, anxiety, tension, depression and slowing of
reactions. It also increases adrenaline which can lead to
exhaustion. Exposure to positive ions also causes over production
of histamine, which is body chemical which aggravates allergies.
Another scientific paper showed that a surprisingly small
amount of negative ions could kill and take out of the air,
the types of bacteria that cause colds, influenza and respiratory
infections.
5. Computer users suffer 78% lesser
headaches.
6. 63% of Asthma and Hay Fever patients
were relieved: In one experiment 63% of patients suffering
from hay fever or bronchial asthma experienced partial to
total relief.
7. Effective pain killer: A study
of brain-wave patterns showed that negative ions tranquilises
persons in severe pain. Patients of severe burn cases were
tried in a windowless but ion-conditioned room. In ten minutes,
usually, the pain was gone. Morphine, customarily administered
in such cases, was never necessary. Patients were left in
the room for 30 minutes, with the treatment repeated three
times every 14 hours. In 85 percent of the cases no pain-deadening
narcotics were needed. Negative ions make burns dry out
faster and heal faster with less scarring.
8. Post operative pain relief:
In 57% cases of patients in their first and second day after
surgeries negative ions eliminated or drastically reduced
pain.
9. Air borne Allergen effects is reduced:
Our bronchial tubes and trachea, or windpipe, are lined
with tiny hair filaments called cilia. The cilia normally
maintain a whip-like motion of about 900 beats a minute.
Together with mucus, they keep our air passages free of
dust and pollen. Scientists exposed tracheal tissue to negative
ions and found the ciliary beat was speeded up to 12OO a
minute and that mucus flow was increased. Doses of positive
ions produced the opposite effect: The ciliary beat slowed
to 6OO a minute or less and the flow of mucus dropped.
10. Cigarette smoke effects are reversed:
Cigarette smoke slows down the cilia, impairing their ability
to clear foreign, and possibly carcinogenic (cancer-inducing),
substances from the lungs. While positive ions worsened
this condition, negative ions were found to reverse the
effects of the smoke.
